Privacy Policy
Thank you for your interest in our app "Sensorhopper". Protecting your personal data is important to us. Below we inform you about how your data is processed.
1. Data Controller

Email: contact@studio-seaside.de
2. Overview
Sensorhopper displays the sensors of your iPhone or iPad (e.g. motion, location, air pressure, microphone level). The app has no accounts and no login. Sensor data, recordings and settings are processed and stored only on your device and are not sent to us.
Data leaves your device in only two cases: for advertising in the free version (section 5) and for the connection display in the "Internet" widget (section 4).
3. Permissions & Sensor Data
The app only asks for permissions you need for the respective widgets. All values are displayed and processed locally on your device:
- Location: for GPS coordinates, speed, altitude and compass
- Motion & Fitness: for steps, floors, activity and altitude change
- Microphone: for sound level and frequency. No audio is recorded or stored.
- Camera: only for LiDAR distance measurement. No images are captured or stored.
Device information (e.g. Wi-Fi name, mobile carrier, storage, battery level) is also only displayed locally.
You can revoke permissions at any time in the iOS Settings.
3.1 Recordings & Export
Recordings of measurements are stored only on your device. They leave the device only if you share them yourself as CSV, JSON or PDF – the terms of the destination you choose then apply (e.g. Mail, Files, messengers).
3.2 Home Screen Widget
For the Home Screen and Lock Screen widget, the app stores the most recently measured display values (e.g. "82 %", "1013.2 hPa") in a shared storage on your device (App Group). Neither raw data nor location coordinates are shared, and these values are not transmitted.
4. "Internet" Widget
Only while the "Internet" widget is active does the app connect to Cloudflare:
- Request to
www.cloudflare.com/cdn-cgi/traceto display your public IP address and country - Connection to
1.1.1.1(port 443) to measure ping
As with any internet request, your IP address is transmitted to Cloudflare. The app itself does not store or forward this information.
Purpose: Displaying connection data at your request
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the feature you use)
Provider: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA
Cloudflare Privacy Policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
5. Advertising (Free Version)
The free version shows banner ads. For this, the app uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Through AdMob mediation, Unity Ads (Unity Technologies, 30 3rd Street, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA) may also serve ads.
5.1 Consent
On first launch in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, we ask for your consent via Google's consent platform (User Messaging Platform, IAB TCF). Your choice also applies to Unity Ads and is passed on automatically via the TCF framework. Personalized ads are shown only with your consent; otherwise non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy options.
5.2 Data Processed
The ad partners process in particular:
- Device identifiers (e.g. app- or vendor-scoped identifiers)
- IP address and the approximate location derived from it
- Advertising data (ads shown and tapped) and interactions with the app
- Crash, performance and diagnostic data
The app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission. Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) is therefore not used, and your data is not used for cross-app tracking.
Purpose: Funding the free app through advertising
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) or, for non-personalized ads, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in funding the free app)
Data transfer: EU + USA
Safeguards: EU-US Data Privacy Framework, standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR)

5.3 Without Ads
With Sensors PRO (one-time in-app purchase), no ads are requested or shown. The purchase is handled by Apple via StoreKit (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Cork, Ireland). We do not receive any payment or personal data.

6. Retention
- Data on your device (settings, recordings, widget values): until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app
- Data held by the ad partners: according to the policies of Google and Unity
7. Your Rights (GDPR Art. 15–22)
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time.
Withdrawing consent:
- Advertising: in the app under Settings → Privacy options
- Permissions (location, microphone, camera, motion): iOS → Settings → Sensorhopper
- Delete local data: in the app or by uninstalling it
As we do not receive any personal data from the app ourselves, please also contact Google or Unity directly regarding data held by the ad partners. For questions, contact us at contact@studio-seaside.de.
